Roole Premium
Overview
Roole, previously known as Club Identicar, is a supplementary car insurance provider offering services designed to assist drivers in their everyday lives. As a product designer, I was incorporated into the application development team to contribute to the ongoing enhancement of their offerings.

Process
In our team, we employed the Scrum methodology. Based on the individual requirements of each Product Manager's roadmap, we assembled a team to undertake sprints lasting typically between 2 to 4 weeks. This approach was relatively new at Roole, and as needs arose, I developed various tools/processes, such as those for conducting user interviews.
Additionally, alongside other designers, we formed a community to discuss our projects and ensure consistency across different products, including the maintenance and evolution of the design system.
During various sprints, I contributed to:
- Redesigning the activation flow for Bluetooth, GPS permissions, etc., and creating a control center.
- Overhauling the driving tracking service.
- Streamlining the claim reporting process.
- Revamping the presentation page for partners' commercial offers.
Design Methodology:
- Exploratory Phase
- Iterative Development
- Wireframe and Prototype Creation
- User Testing and Feedback
- Final Product Delivery
Exploratory Phase
Observing a lack of user engagement, we conducted user interviews with the product manager overseeing the sprint to gain insights into their service usage. Concurrently, a benchmarking analysis was carried out to identify trends and best practices elsewhere. The findings indicated a lack of understanding of driving scores and the relevance of recommendations, leading us to initiate a complete overhaul of the driving tracking feature.
Iterative Development
With these insights, we embarked on an iterative phase to brainstorm new ideas. We started with an iteration workshop involving various product managers, resulting in multiple concepts for presenting driving data, including comparing one's scores with other users. At the end of the first iteration cycle, the selected ideas were developed into user flows.
Wireframe and Prototype Creation
As part of the iterative development, wireframes and prototypes were created to reflect the project's progress. Each prototype was reviewed in workshops with product managers to discuss its relevance and make necessary iterations. A graphical representation of driving scores was chosen to compare them with other drivers.
User Testing and Feedback
Following the production of high-fidelity mockups, user testing was conducted to validate our design assumptions before going live. We recruited a panel of Roole's driving tracking service users for this purpose. This allowed us to refine the wording in the recommendations to ensure maximum relevance for the users.
Final Product Delivery
Once the final version was approved, the product was broken down into sprints for the developers. The product designer documented the UI rules and the design system to ensure the developed version matched the mockups.
